Petrusville is situated 48km northeast of Phillipstown and 108km from De Aar on the R48.
It was named after Petrus van der Walt, owner of the farm, Rhenosterberg. The town lies in a fertile valley surrounded by cluster of high hills and the museum houses a horse-drawn, hooded cart and century-old clothing. The “Pillar Fountain” erected in honour of King Edward VII can still be seen.
There are stone trenches from the Anglo-Boer War that can still be found in the koppies, and San Rock Art that may be viewed on the farm “Kraaibosch”.
