This town is about 60 km Northeast of De Aar on the R48 and was founded in 1863 as a Church centre. The town was named after Sir Philip Wodehouse, Governor of the Cape in the late 1800’s.
Khoisan Rock Art can be viewed on as many as 5 farms in the vicinity. The town also hosts a selection of national monuments, such as the old prison museum, the magistrate’s office, the Reformed Church and “Teich House”.
